Mexico
I travelled through Mexico alone for two months with one camera and one lens and very little plan. The work came out of movement, chance, and constant attention. I found myself in streets, markets, festivals, and towns I had not expected, often photographing things as they unfolded in front of me. Using one lens changed the way I worked. It asked for closeness, commitment, and quick decisions. Not everything worked, but that was part of it.
These images are among the most instinctive photographs I have made. They came from letting go of control and responding to what was there.
