Belgrade

I keep returning to Belgrade because part of me belongs there. My family is from Serbia, and the city feels both familiar and strange. In autumn 2017, I walked its quieter streets with an unobtrusive camera. The city felt caught between its past and what was coming next. I photographed small, ordinary moments before the changes ahead took hold.

These are street photographs made from observation in a city between one state and another.
